The massive project was undertaken by Khedri in an attempt to prove that the rich traditions and heritage of the nation have certainly not been destroyed by war, Recently the copy of the world largest holy qur'an was unveiled in Kabul. This Largest Qur’an is made with beautiful gold scripting that also combines millions of tiny colorful dots to create symbolic decorations around the pages. Khedri said he wanted to use as many tasteful colors as possible to make the holy book look beautiful. Interestingly, he had actually completed the project in 2009, and kept it a secret for two whole years. This was because the binding and the room to house the book weren’t ready yet. Khedri’s masterpiece is now stored in a cultural center in Kabul that was founded in the 1980s. The final copy consists of 218 pages and measures 2.28 x 1.55 m. It weighs a whopping 500kg and the skin of 21 goats was used to create the cover. It’s estimated cost is around £300,000 ($465,000).

As a devout Muslim, Khedri says that he wouldn’t mind if someone made a Qur’an bigger than this one. “I will be happier if someone else makes a bigger Qur’an. It is serving Islam.” The copy of the Qur’an previously considered the largest, was unveiled last year in the Tatarstan region of Russia. Megaupload one of the biggest file sharing website had been shut down by US Federal prosecutors for violating piracy laws. I wonder is it due to SOPA and PIPA? It's kinda weird to me, how did they close down a website without going to the court. Here's the news about How US Federal Prosecutors shut down Megaupload. RIP Megaupload (2005-2012).

The New York Times reports that the company – which, according to the indictment filed by federal prosecutors in Virginia, America, was at one point the 13th most popular website in the world – has been closed down and its founders have been charged.

Prosecutors claim that the service has cost copyright holders more than $500 million (£320 million) in lost revenue, although Megaupload claim that they have always been diligent in dealing with any complaints regarding pirated material.

Megaupload is considered a "cyberlocker," in which users can upload and transfer files that are too large to send by email. Such sites can have perfectly legitimate uses. But the Motion Picture Association of America, which has campaigned for a crackdown on piracy, estimated that the vast majority of content being shared on Megaupload was in violation of copyright laws.

The BBC, meanwhile, reports that the criminal charges stemming from the case include copyright infringement, conspiracies to commit racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering. The FBI have also reportedly seized more than $50 million (£32 million) in assets and have executed more than 20 search warrants in nine countries.

However, before it was closed down, Megaupload issued a statement reading: "The fact is that the vast majority of Mega's internet traffic is legitimate, and we are here to stay.

"If the content industry would like to take advantage of our popularity, we are happy to enter into a dialogue. We have some good ideas. Please get in touch."

The site boasted 150 million registered users and about 50 million hits daily. The Justice Department said it was illegal for anyone to download pirated content, but their investigation focused on the leaders of the company, not end users who may have downloaded a few movies for personal viewing.

Earlier this week, several websites including Wikipedia temporarily closed down in order to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), the proposal from US Congress which aims to thwart online piracy.

I hope that we won't live in a world without free knowledge just like what wikipedia wrote on their site to strike against SOPA and PIPA several days ago.

If in France there's a woman who marries her dead boyfriends then in Thailand there's a man who marries her dead girlfriends. both of them was a great example of the tragic love story and show us how a true love could do, a man decided to go ahead with the wedding he and his girlfriend had planned, But sadly a day before the wedding, her girlfriends died in a car crash.

29-year old Sarinya Kamsook and her 28-year-old boyfriend, Chadil Deffy, were to be married this year. A wedding is considered the most special event of a woman’s life and it was no different for Sarinya. She was eagerly counting the days to the moment when she would finally say ‘I do’, along with the love of her life, but fate had other plans for them. Just 1 days before the wedding, Sarinya was involved in a car crash, leaving her severely injured. She still could have been saved with timely medical attention. However, the doctors made her wait for 6 hours due to an overcrowded ICU instead of transferring her to another hospital. During this time, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

Deffy and Sarinya had been together for 10 years, before they finally decided to get married and build a family. They had postponed the wedding several times, due to busy schedules and the fact that Deffy wanted to complete his education before he got married. However, after Sarinya’s untimely death, he couldn’t let her go without fulfilling her deepest desire. So, he decided to marry her anyway. On the 4th of January, in Buddhist ceremony, Deffy married the corpse of his girlfriend Sarinya. The event took place in Surin, a city in northern Thailand. During the ceremony, he expressed his devotion and deep love for Sarinya. Several friends and relatives attended the wedding, and it was even aired on national television in Thailand. The story, along with pictures from the wedding have now become an internet sensation, sparking several debates. You can watch their wedding procession below. It's really a sad wedding ceremony where a man marries her dead girlfriends just to fulfill their deepest desire.

Blind Tennis? As we know the Japanese people was an expert in making a weird and bizarre things. this blind tennis was a sport for the blind people. The blind people could track the ball movement with their ears, the ball used for this blind tennis is different from the usual tennis sport.

The creation of this sport is largely credited to Miyoshi Takei, who in spite of his blindness, started to play tennis as a kid with the encouragement of his high school teacher. His only aim at the time was to hit a ball that was flying through the air as hard as he could, even though he couldn’t see it. After several trials, he finally invented a special kind of tennis ball that is spongy and light in weight. The ball rattles, so that blind players can track its movement with their ears. Miyoshi’s endeavors met with success and the first national blind tennis championships were held in Japan in the year 1990. Today, hundreds of Japanese players take part every year and a few from other countries too, such as China, Korea, Taiwan, Britain and the United States.

Interestingly, blind tennis is played on a badminton court with string taped to the lines so players can feel the boundaries. Junior-sized rackets are used to hit the ball. Players who are deemed legally blind wear eye masks to level the field. They are expected to hit the ball after it bounces two to three times, depending on the level of their visual impairment. Sadly, Miyoshi is no longer alive to see the progress made by the sport he invented. He passed away a year ago, at the age of 42, when he was returning home with his blind wife and fell in front of an oncoming train in Tokyo. This African wildcat named Trouble claimed as the World's tallest cat today, trouble has 19 Inch long or approximately about 48.2 cm from paw to shoulder, It is the Guinness-record certified tallest cat in the world, topping the previous record holder by an inch (2.5 cm). It seems that trouble will enter the nominee of the tallest cat in the world on the next Guinness Book of Records 2013.

Trouble is a hybrid called a Savannah - part house cat and part African serval. Its owner, Debby Maraspina, bred the animal 3 years ago. She is happy that her cat, docile as a kitten, has risen to fame. Trouble is part house cat and part African serval cat, a recognised hybrid called a Savannah, but his height is still surprising, even for his breed.

Mrs Maraspina told the Sacramento Bee that she didn’t really think much of Trouble’s size until a friend, who owns the world’s longest cat, suggested that she get him measured at a cat show in Reno.

The process to get Trouble registered and confirmed as the Guinness-certified tallest cat was a long one. Mrs Maraspina had to get Trouble measured by a veterinarian and document the cat’s height in both photos and videos. Luytla-Duymun Islands was an island which is crowned by cloud, Luytla-Duymun is the smallest of the 18 Faroe Islands, located between Scotland and Iceland. This gorgeous place is 0.8 square km (0.3 square miles) with the highest point, Mount Ravan, 414 meters (1,358 feet) high. The island is uninhabited. The Guinness record for canine longevity is 29 years, set by Bluey, an Australian cattle dog who died in 1939.

Preparation took several days and the final set up involved 150 staff members working for 24 hours straight, with the cake placed on 156 tables lined up in the hotel lobby. This Longest Christmas Cake ever required 904 organic eggs, 1,045 kilograms (2,304 pounds) of wheat flour, 209 kilograms (461 pounds) of cane sugar, 633 liters (1,114 pints) of fresh cream, 401 kilograms (884 pounds) of bitter chocolate and 34 kilograms (75 pounds) of vanilla from Tahiti.

The previous record for a Christmas log cake was achieved by French chefs in Paris exactly a year ago, on December 1st, 2010, according to Guinness World Records. It measured 207.8 meters (682 feet). Chefs in Shanghai intended to make the cake stretch out for 888 meters (2,913 feet), so the announcement of the final length far exceeded expectations.

She’d done this bizarre Christmas tree for the past three years. Because the town, along with everywhere else in the world, is currently living in interesting times economically, she decided to save the city some cash.

She built a 13-meter (or roughly 40 feet) tall tree, using green plastic soda bottles, the kind which usually contain Sprite or 7-Up. It’s also held together with zip ties. At night, the tree is lit from within, giving a beautiful glow.

Since the tree is made out of recycled parts, there’s no need to take any other resources out of the Earth. They didn’t need to suck some oil out of the ground or cut down any trees. This tree shows that recycling is not just some kind of environmental “slacktivism,” or pretending to do something for the environment. Recycling can also be beautiful. Finally Google open their world first official android store. as a leader in smartphone market with more than 200 million activated devices beating out former market leaders Apple and RIM (Blackberry) it's really make sense if Google open their Official Android Store which is called Androidland. This store was dominated with the green color. So what's inside this Official Store of Android by Google?

The World's first official android store by Google was opened in Melbourne, Australia, This cool android store was made by a collaboration with the local Australian operators Telstra. it offers a whole range of different Android products for sale, along with other Google-related attractions like a giant, multi-screen display for exploring Google Earth. Telstra also claims that it's the "world's first" Android store, although there's no word on any plans for additional stores (either from Telstra or other carriers). In this Androidland you can also play Angry Birds on a giant screen. It seems that this Androidland could be the real heaven for all Android Users. 1. Queen Alexandra's Birdwing

Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing or Ornithoptera alexandrae is the world’s largest butterfly. It was named for Queen Alexandra, wife of King Edward VII of UK. Female species are larger than males with wingspan than can reach 31 cm and a body length of 8 cm. it can attain a weight of up to 12 grams. This gigantic butterfly can only be in the forests of Oro Province in Papua New Guinea. This species is critically endangered.

2. Goliath Birdwing

This species was known as the second biggest butterfly in the world, It has a wingspan up to 28 centimetres (11 in) The males have black, yellow and green wings and a yellow and black body, while the females are brown and white on the top wings and yellow on the bottom wings. The female is typically larger than the male. Flight is leisurely, but controlled and powerful. Males pursue their females for long distances, rising high over the forest canopy then folding their wings and diving down to tree level to mate, even though they risk hindwing damage by the sharp tarsal claws of females. The Goliath Birdwing takes an approximate 15 minutes to emerge from its chrysalis because of its large wings

This species of butterfly was also known as the most poisonous butterfly, it is almost as large as the Goliath Birdwing, this african giant swallowtail has a wingspan of 23 cm. It is scientifically named Papilio antimachus and is the largest butterfly in continental Africa. The female is smaller than the male. The butterfly has no natural enemies because it is very toxic, perhaps the most toxic of all butterflies.

4. Buru Opalescent Birdwing

Buru Opalescent Birdwing or Troides prattorum is another large butterfly. This butterfly is native to Indonesia in Southeast Asia. The wingspan is about 15 – 17 cm. This butterfly is a member of the family PAPILIONIDAE. Troides prattorumis black. The hind wings are golden. It has an optical effect. At a diagonal point of view the golden hind wings will change their colour into blue or green. The females are dark-brown or black.

5. Palawan Birdwing

Palawan Birdwing or Trogonoptera trojana is a large butterfly native to Palawan in the Philippine. Palawan Birdwing has narrower green bands on the rearwings. The wingspan is approximately 18 centimetres (7.1 in). The butterfly flies the whole year. The larvae feed on Aristolochia foveolata.

It's the first supercar factory that adopts an Energy Efficient Feautures which means they uses a natural cooling or heating system to reduce the electricity cost.

This factory stands in an area of 34,500 m2 where most buildings in using natural cooling or heating system to reduce the cost of electricity ( air conditioning and heater ). Portion of the roof is also designed in such a way that serves as a rain harvesting the rainwater that falls onto the roof will be accommodated and will be reused.

You can choose this business class since it's cheaper than the first class but it's still has a premium service, At least better than the economy class cabins.

1. Cathay Pacific Business Class

Though similar in some respect to the first class options, but the stature of luxury wasn’t as elite for these Business class seating arrangement of Cathay Pacific. After going through some prominent corporate level changes, facilities like the seating were also changed. Now passengers can dine, sleep, work, read or just relax all within the same seating space, which has been given extra wide designs, with a unique shape to cocoon the guests in comfort, especially on long haul flights. These seats were fitted with entertainment systems including the 15-inch LCD TVs with hundreds of movies and shows on demand, apart from a plethora of choice for music and video games. Also the multi-port USB connectivity helped to plug-in iPads and other personal computing devices, aided by the help from the control panel. When it comes to retiring at the end of the day, a simple few maneuvers could convert the seat into a 2 meter bed to relax on.

2. Delta U.S. lie-flat seats

Introduced as a part of the business class, the Delta Airlines lie-flat seats were the first examples in US based flights. The features which set it apart were the reclining seats, adjustable to 3 comfort positions and conversion to a 6 foot 3 inch bed, entertainment system with fold out video monitor, foldable and height adjustable dinner tables, plus personal storage spaces for bags, shoes and other luggage. This option might not have been as detailed as some of the other business class aircrafts, but certainly was a fair competition to the others. This class of seats was actually re-introduced with enhancements over previous designs with new variety for customers’ dining, greater comfort in each seat with broader seats and fixed foot rests, and the 15-inch screens for entertainment and multimedia usage. Also the foot rests weren’t ordinary, as they had multi-speed foot massagers so that passengers could relax reading or entertaining themselves on the multimedia system aboard their flight. There was device integration too with USB connectivity, and iPod socket along with noise cancellation headphones for an optimum experience. 7. Asiana Airlines Oz Quadra Smartium business seat

Introduced by the Korean owned Business air carrier Asiana Airlines, these new seats were a fresh and rather stylish additions for the premium segment of business travelers. The name itself is quite the mystery, which later unfolds into various interesting aspects; ‘Oz’ stood for the airline’s code, ‘Quadra’ stood for the 4-new additions to the seating arrangements, and ‘Smartium’ referred to the smart design of the new seats. These 4 new additions included the 74-inch long flat-bed seats, privacy features, direct access to the main aisle to contact service staff members, and the staggered layout which offered space, as well as the advantage of an optimum number of seats in various sections. The terms bioluminescence itself means a production and emission of light by a living organism, Bioluminescence occurs in marine vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as microorganisms and terrestrial animals. Symbiotic organisms carried within larger organisms are also known to bioluminesce.

Bioluminescence is a naturally occurring form of chemiluminescence where energy is released by a chemical reaction in the form of light emission. Fireflies, anglerfish, and other creatures produce the chemicals luciferin (a pigment) and luciferase (an enzyme). The luciferin reacts with oxygen to create light. The luciferase acts as a catalyst to speed up the reaction, which is sometimes mediated by cofactors such as calcium ions or ATP. The chemical reaction can occur either inside or outside the cell. In bacteria, the expression of genes related to bioluminescence is controlled by an operon called the Lux operon.

In some squid species bacterial bioluminescence is used for counterillumination so the animal matches the overhead environmental light seen from below. In these animals, photoreceptive vesicles have been found that control the contrast of this illumination to create optimal matching. Harbor the Hound Dog with the Longest Ears

There's so many weird and bizarre dog in this worlds such as Harbor the black and tan coonhound dog which is now recognized as the Dog with the Longest ears in the World with his 2 feet long ears. harbor's ears was features on the 2012 Guinness World Records for the Dog with the Longest Ears on the 15th september. Harbor's owner Jenifer Wert, of Boulder, Colorado, said his giant ears caused him quite a headache as a small puppy. The black and tan Coonhound would often trip over his floppy ears and slide down the family home stairs, she said.

Now eight years old and fully grown, Harbour is able to walk around without much fuss - except when he goes for a walk in the park. "Cars will literally stop in the street to take a closer look and get a picture," added Ms Wert.

When measured by officials Harbor's ears were 12.25 inches (31.1 cm) for the left ear and 13.5 inches (34.3 cm) for the right. Amazingly, Harbor's ear-span is longer than the world's smallest man Junrey Balawing, from the Philippines, who stands at just 23.5 inches.

The extra-long ears displayed on most hounds, particularly the Coonhound, are used not for hearing but primarily for smell. Harbor uses his ears close to the ground to sweep odours up into his nose.

Tigger, a deceased bloodhound from Illinois, laid claim to the previous record with a 13.75 inch (34.9 cm) right ear and a 13.5 inch (34.2 cm) left ear.

One of the museum walls is covered with over 50 handheld and home video-game consoles, dating back to 1951. Gaming enthusiasts will recognize the Commodore 64, the Game Boy, and the 1990′s popular Super Nintendo, displayed in neon green cases. It also features the world’s first home video-game console, invented by a Ralph Baer, during the 1960s. It was called the “Brown Box”, and it was the prototype for the home gaming system known as the Magnavox Odyssey console. Baer, who is now the patron of the Video Game Museum, thinks kids nowadays with their PSPs, Xbox 360s and PS3 consoles take modern games for granted and need to know how gaming began and how far it has come since the days of Atari’s legendary Pong.

In another part of the museum we find the Wall of Game Milestones, with over 50 extraordinary games that have influenced the industry with their graphics, music, or genre.
